Agora is the school of social and political education of the Diocesan Office for the problems social justice and peace in the Diocese of Città di Castello, the Church Meeting of 2006 in Verona has believers and non-citizens, initiatives and meetings on the main themes of the Social Doctrine of the Church and aims to train people who can provide presence of qualified, able to contribute to the common good of "our polis." This year, Agora opens two workshops on "policy family "and" urban redevelopment ".

The family is at the heart of DSC, "The social role of families is also known to be expressed in the form of political intervention: families, that is, have to first ensure that the laws and State institutions do not only do not offend but support and positively defend the rights and duties of the family. In this sense, families should grow in awareness of being "protagonists" of the so-called "family politics" and assume responsibility for transforming society. [...] The family has the right to exercise its social and political construction of society "(Charter of the family). This does not conflict at all with what is stated for example in Article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the state. The Italian Constitution recognizes the family as a natural society founded on marriage, "based on the moral and legal equality of spouses within the limits established by law to guarantee the unity of the family" art. 29.

In recent times, come from many attentions the family, seen as a place of human relationships, education and growth, but also care and treatment, as well as culture and social protection. A Nobel laureate James Heckman has emphasized the economic value. The same National Association of Italian Municipalities presented the document: "Municipalities and family policies." The changes and challenges of our time have altered the traditional aspects of Italian families and placed into a situation of weakness and difficulty.

Italian municipalities are entities that have provided more resources and tools to Italian families, with widely differing initiatives. In this workshop we will propose projects fielded by some local governments to support the family and its precious "missions."

To participate in the workshop, which is free but restricted to members, you must submit your membership by communicating your name, any institution / company affiliation, telephone and e-mail: You can ; send email to rossi.giuseppe @ inwind.it or cell phone. 339/4303197 (in the afternoon and / or evening).
